That’s completely normal. Most beginners feel this way. Lessons are structured step-by-step to build comfort in the water before you start working on catching waves.

What comes with my surf lesson?

Each lesson includes all equipment. We provide a wetsuit and a surfboard matched to your size and ability. Your 90-minute session includes beach instruction and hands-on coaching in the water.

What should I bring?

What happens if the conditions aren’t good?

If ocean conditions are not suitable, your lesson will be rescheduled or credited. Sessions are always based on safe, beginner-friendly surf conditions.

Where should I go for my lesson?

We meet on the beach at 153 Thalia Street in Laguna Beach. Walk down the stairs to the sand and look for the palapa where we gather before the lesson. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. Nearby metered parking is available, and there's also free residential parking up the hill, about a 5-minute walk.

Can I join a group lesson by myself?

Group lessons need at least 2 people. If you're coming on your own, we'd recommend a private lesson.

How much notice do I need to cancel or change my lesson?

Please cancel or make changes at least 24 hours before your lesson. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged in full because we reserve your time and prepare for your session.

How long is a surf lesson?
